Hello Everyone,
It amazes me how often confidence gets mistaken for arrogance. I’m not exactly sure when having high self-esteem took on a negative connotation but heaven forbid anybody have a little pride. As soon as you give yourself credit there is someone there to try and pull you back down the proverbial crab barrel. I don’t know about you but I get sick and tired of people trying to “shrink” me.
Is it my fault that I’m so awesome? God was in a good mood when he created me. What can I say? I’m blessed with dashing good looks. I have an uncanny ability to see the lesson in tribulation. I use those lessons to pen a *circumlocution I call “The Catalyst”. I can’t help the fact that no one on Earth can do what I do. To some, the preceding statements sound like a rant from an individual with a runaway ego. But you would be wrong. Sure, I’m the most important person on Earth. But guess what? So are you. You may wonder why you don’t get the appreciation that you feel you deserve. One reason is because you still haven’t realized how magnificent you are. Like me, there is only one “you”. And only you can do what you can do. No one can love like you. Nobody will sing like you. You, my friend, are one of a kind. The problem is you have been taught for so long that you aren’t special. Society has its way of getting people to conform. Everyone is created equal, right? Look around. Nobody is created equal. We are simply created. Nothing more, nothing less. What we do with our abilities is what separates us. However, most judge themselves based on a scale crafted by others. Come on. Be truthful. You bought that shirt because the style looked good on someone else. You think that just because you wear the identical shirt that people will look at you with the same admiration. But a shirt doesn’t change who you are. Although you may seem different, you’re the same person after the purchase that you were before. The only difference is you’re about $200 dollars poorer.
Life is not about worrying what others think. Commercials, MTV, and fashion magazines attempt to tell you who you should be and what ranks as the status quo. But life is not about “them”. It’s all about how you feel about yourself. People will respect you as much as you respect yourself. But remember: No one can handle your divine radiance in full so you will have to tone down from time to time. There is nothing wrong with that. It’s not that you’re being fake or selling out. It’s just that the world isn’t ready for your unmatched vivacity. So the next time your order isn’t right at Mickey D’s, don’t get mad. They’re only human. The next time someone dismisses one of your ideas. Cut them some slack. They don’t know any better. Compared to you, they’re an idiot. I know it and you know it. The highlight of their day is hoping to merely have some kind of effect on you. It’s not they’re fault. You’re just too awesome. They know it and I know it.
